L’Oreal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus On Sustainability Initiatives

L'Oreal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus spoke about sustainability and refillable packaging during a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum's annual meeting.

L’Oreal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus spoke about sustainability and refillable packaging during a panel discussion, “Responsible Consumption,” at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting on May 24th in Davos, an Alpine resort town in Switzerland. 

How is L’Oreal encouraging more responsible consumption? “Consumer empowerment” is key, Hieronimus says. “We have to help consumers understand how to change their behaviors. We can only be agents of change if consumers are agents of change,” he says.

In addition, US News & World Report reported today that when asked about inflation’s effect on beauty, Hieronimus said it is not having any effect on the consumer demand for beauty products.
